Niekedy sme boli zaskočení, inokedy smutní, no zároveň sme si uvedomovali, akú dôležitú úlohu má tento výlet v našom vzdelávaní a v porozumení minulosti.
A hoci naše pocity boli rozmanité, určite všetci odchádzali s pocitom hlbokej úcty a pokory.

Many people describe Auschwitz as a place where death can be felt in the air. Where stepping into one of the buildings can make a person violently ill at worst, very uneasy at best. That's not how it was. It felt and looked like a normal work camp. No drying blood, no bullet holes, nothing. The place had a peaceful air to it, as much as it felt weird to say. It was calm, and quiet, and the only evidence something so horrible happened there were leftover belongings of the victims, and a glass urn full of ashes.
I remember stepping into the gas chamber, and seeing scrapes and nail marks on the walls, and i felt nothing. As if i was unable to comprehend the horror, that this was left by thousands of innocent people who died where i was standing.
Auschwitz isn't some intense, life changing experience the second you walk under that sign. It's subtle. It lightly tints your outlook on life without you even noticing. It is nothing and everything at the same time. I don't think i will ever forget.

My feelings from Auschwitz trip are mixed. I enjoyed this trip but when i look at it from the other side it’s terrifying. How can people did such a bad thing that good. When I saw lot of shoes, hairs, backpacks and a places where they live and work I realised how lucky I am. We have very good tour guide. She knows almost everything about this place and she is speaking english very well. Everyone got their own headphones through which we can hear the tour guide. The most exciting thing about Auschwitz was when we went to the gas chamber and cremarorium. When I imagine that in a room big as our class they fit there almost 1000 people included childs, womans, mans and kill them all within 20 minutes. I really enjoyed this trip and I am glad that I can see place like this. “Work makes one free.”
